Working for the Brighton Racecourse GP Vaccination Hub

We have a number of different roles that we are looking to fill at the Brighton Racecourse Site. Please read the details for each role. To learn more about Volunteering as a Marshal, please visit the Volunteer area.

Available Roles:

Vaccinator/Consenter

This role is responsible for both obtaining consent from, and vaccinating the patients and is paid at £26 per hour. Because of the consent requirement you will need to be a registered Healthcare Professional – this includes but is not limited to:

  • GPs
  • Any Doctor working currently for an NHS Trust
  • Nurses
  • Physiotherapists
  • Dentists and Hygienists both NHS Trust Employed and Private Practice
  • Pharmacists
  • Dieticians
  • Occupational therapists

Staff already working with NHS Trusts or GP Practices do not have to provide full evidence of Statutory and Mandatory Training. Please complete the standard vaccination training modules listed in the mandatory Training Requirements https://www.improvingaccessservices.co.uk/ehs-staff-resources/mandatory-training-covid-vaccination-sites/

Please ensure you complete the Vaccinator Self Assessment Tool prior to your first shift and we will sign you off if you are not currently a vaccinator or haven’t vaccinated in the last 12 months. Bring your Photo ID and proof of Employment with you on your first shift.

Draw Uppers

This role involves preparing the vaccine by drawing it up into syringes ready to be given to the patient and is paid at £26 per hour. You will be trained and supported by a Lead Pharmacist. This role is open to Non-Registered Healthcare staff which includes but is not limited to:

  • Healthcare Assistants
  • Medical Students
  • Nursing Students
  • Pre-Registration Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapy Students
  • Science Degree Students ideally with some laboratory experience

Admin and Reception

This role includes supporting patients on arrival and entering their details onto systems as the patient receives their vaccination. The Admin and Reception role is paid at £11 per hour.
